1) This video is a great resource in getting the gist of what happens during the book. It also gives a good explanation about the characters. On the other hand, it is better to watch this video after you have read the novel so that you keep your own interpretations of what is going on and what characters are like. Otherwise your true understanding won't be your own.

2) This video is something that I would loved to have had when studying The Great Gatsby. Ms.Bernstein is a college graduate, who did not major in English, but, she likes to help people out. In this video she breaks down how to deal with the themes of The Great Gatsby, and she puts everything in simple ways so that you can understand it. Also, she has other videos that are helpful with The Great Gatsby.

3) This scholarly article, The Great Gatsby, by John A. Pidgeon, has a very intellectual outlook on the novel. The author favors the book, but takes a step back and talks about the context of it as well, like the "American Dream" theme and the religious aspects. It is a higher level reading, but it is very helpful in learning about the historical/biographical viewpoint.

  
4) I believe that this painting by Melissa Morehead (On the right) from Texas really portrays The Great Gatsby well. Clara Johnson (On the left) held a gallery expo for Morehead, showing all her work inspired by The Great Gatsby movie. Her work is titled Watching, and it is inspired from " the all knowing, watching, judging eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleberg...." The giant eyes penetrating through the glasses are very real. Also, the red drips and smears with the harsh blue and black brush strokes show the pain and violence through Dr. T.J Eckleberg.

5) The main lenses people look into The Great Gatsby with are the Feminist and Marxist, but no one really looks at it through the Psychoanalytical lens. In this blog, the author talks about any character's fear of intimacy and goes into detail with the relationships of Daisy and Tom Buchanan, Tom and Myrtle, Myrtle and George Wilson, Nick and Jordan and finally Daisy and Gatsby. It is very interesting to look at these character's relationships in this way. It also helped me understand the characters more after going through this blog.
